September is planting season in the Upstate!
Our outdoor racks are filling with fresh vegetable starts, herbs, snapdragons, ornamental kale + cabbage, colorful foliage and other seasonal favorites.
And don't overlook the vegetable rack when you're planning pretty fall pots! Swiss chard, kale, broccoli, collards and herbs can add just as much color and texture to a container as traditional ornamentals.

FALL IS GROWING AT THE STATION
September is one of our favorite months at City Seed. The days may still feel like summer, but fall gardening is officially underway.
Fresh vegetables and herbs are arriving, fall seeds are ready to sow, and our outdoor racks are beginning to fill with snapdragons, ornamental kale + cabbage, colorful foliage and other cool-season favorites.
And the mums? We’re letting MOST of them wait just a little longer. 😉 With our Upstate heat still hanging around, we’d rather bring them in when the weather — and the timing — is better for actually enjoying them. But for those of you who simply cannot wait, we did bring in just FOUR 8" mums — Hannah Orange + Patty Pomegranate — for a little instant fall gratification. 🍂

Located in a restored mid-century gas station in downtown Anderson, City Seed at the Station is filled with plants, small-maker gifts, and garden inspiration.
Regular Hours:
Tuesday–Friday · 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
Saturday · 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
Closed Sunday & Monday
Special Hours for 2026:
Extended Hours on Saturdays. We are open 8:30am - 2:00 p.m. during the months of April, May and December.
